Statement from the Group of Friends for the Defense of the UN Charter on Recent Illegal Acts Committed Against Iran

1.The Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations strongly denounces and rejects the recent escalating unlawful acts by the United States of America and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the blatant threats to use force and their intervention in its domestic affairs.
2. The Member States of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations further denounce the U.S. and Israeli blatant incitement to the commission of terrorist acts and violence against Iranian people and government, inter alia, the most recent U.S. provocative rhetoric and official statement made on 13 January 2026 expressly aiming to instigate and foment violence and terrorist acts inside Iran.
3. The Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations, while reiterating its categorical rejection to all acts of terrorism, regardless of their motivation, wherever, whenever and by whomsoever committed, strongly condemns the horrific attacks carried out by foreign-backed terrorist elements in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and expresses its deep concern at the fact that such elements have ruthlessly killed and injured Iranian civilians, including children and law enforcement personnel, while severely destructing and damaging public and private properties.
4. The Member States of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations recall that acts, methods, and practices of terrorism, in particular, terrorist attacks carried out against the Iranian people and government by foreign-backed elements, constitute a grave violation of the purposes and principles enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, and, in this context, reaffirm the obligation to refrain from organizing, instigating, facilitating, financing or encouraging terrorist activities against State and/or their citizens.
5. The Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations underlines that the ongoing and unlawful acts of the United States of America and Israel constitute flagrant violations of the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the fundamental principles set forth therein, in particular, the prohibition of threat or use of force against the territorial integrity and political independence of States and the principle of non-intervention in the internal affairs of States, as well as duties to refrain from instigating terrorism as expounded above.
6. The Member States of the Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations emphasize that all such illegal conducts of the United States of America and Israel should be stopped forthwith, while cautioning against any adventurism aimed at fabricating pretexts for intervention in the domestic affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran or the use of force against it, and highlighting, in this context, the responsibility of the international community as a whole, the United Nations and its Secretary-General, to unequivocally condemn the irresponsible and illegal acts of the United States of America and Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
7. The Group of Friends in Defense of the Charter of the United Nations renews its unwavering solidarity with the People and Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran – a fellow and founding member of the grouping – in the midst of the ongoing hostilities and heinous attacks against its sovereignty.

Communiqué du Groupe des amis pour la défense de la Charte des Nations Unies sur les récents actes illégaux commis contre l’Iran
Le Groupe des amis pour la défense de la Charte des Nations Unies dénonce et condamne fermement la récente multiplication des actes illégaux commis par les États-Unis d’Amérique et Israël contre la République islamique d’Iran, en particulier leurs menaces flagrantes de recours à la force et leur intervention dans les affaires intérieures de ce pays.
Les États membres du Groupe des amis pour la défense de la Charte des Nations Unies dénoncent en outre le fait que les États-Unis et Israël incitent de manière flagrante à commettre des actes terroristes et des violences contre le peuple et le Gouvernement iraniens, notamment la toute dernière déclaration officielle grandiloquente et provocatrice qu’ont faite les États-Unis le 13 janvier 2026, qui vise expressément à instiguer et à fomenter des actes de violence et de terrorisme en Iran.
Tout en réitérant son rejet catégorique de tous les actes de terrorisme, quels qu’en soient les motifs et les auteurs, et quel que soit le lieu ou le moment où ils sont perpétrés, le Groupe des amis pour la défense de la Charte des Nations Unies condamne fermement les horribles attentats commis par des éléments terroristes soutenus par l’étranger en République islamique d’Iran, et se dit profondément préoccupé par le fait que ces éléments ont tué ou blessé sans pitié des civils iraniens, y compris des enfants et des agents des forces de l’ordre, et ont gravement détruit et endommagé des biens publics et privés.
Les États membres du Groupe des amis de la défense de la Charte des Nations Unies rappellent que les actes, méthodes et pratiques terroristes, en particulier les attentats terroristes commis contre le peuple et le Gouvernement iraniens par des éléments soutenus par l’étranger, constituent une violation grave des buts et principes consacrés par la Charte des Nations Unies et, dans ce contexte, réaffirment l’obligation de s’abstenir d’organiser, de fomenter, de faciliter, de financer ou d’encourager des activités terroristes contre un État ou ses citoyens.
Le Groupe des amis de la défense de la Charte des Nations Unies souligne que les actes illégaux commis actuellement par les États-Unis d’Amérique et Israël constituent des violations flagrantes des buts et principes de la Charte des Nations Unies et des principes fondamentaux qui y sont énoncés, en particulier l’interdiction du recours à la menace ou à l’emploi de la force contre l’intégrité territoriale et l’indépendance politique des États et le principe de non-intervention dans les affaires intérieures des États, ainsi que le devoir de s’abstenir d’encourager le terrorisme, comme exposé ci-dessus.
Les États membres du Groupe des amis pour la défense de la Charte des Nations Unies insistent sur le fait que les agissements illicites des États-Unis d’Amérique et d’Israël doivent cesser immédiatement, tout en mettant en garde contre toute forme d’aventurisme visant à inventer des prétextes pour intervenir dans les affaires intérieures de la République islamique d’Iran ou à recourir à la force contre elle, et en soulignant, dans ce contexte, qu’il incombe à la communauté internationale dans son ensemble, à l’Organisation des Nations Unies et à son Secrétaire général, de condamner sans équivoque les actes irresponsables et illégaux commis par les États-Unis d’Amérique et Israël contre la République islamique d’Iran.
Le Groupe des Amis pour la défense de la Charte des Nations Unies renouvelle sa solidarité inébranlable avec le peuple et le Gouvernement de la République islamique d’Iran – membre fondateur du Groupe – alors que persistent les hostilités et les attaques odieuses contre la souveraineté de ce pays.
