The Association Council between the European Union and the Kingdom of Morocco will hold its 15th meeting on Thursday, 29 January in Brussels, marking the 30th anniversary of the signature of the EU-Morocco Association Agreement.

The Association Council between the European Union and the Kingdom of Morocco will hold its 15th meeting on Thursday, 29 January in Brussels, starting at 17.30.


The meeting will be co-chaired by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Morocco, Nasser Bourita, who will be leading the delegation of Morocco. Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, will represent the European Commission.


The meeting will provide an opportunity to exchange views on political, economic and trade matters, democracy and human rights, as well as cooperation, including on migration, green transition, innovation, inclusive and sustainable socio-economic development, people-to-people contacts and security.


The parties will also be able to review the implementation of the EU-Morocco Association Agreement (1996) on its 30th anniversary, reaffirming their joint commitment to relaunch and deepen the partnership. Lastly, the parties will touch on regional and international developments, including regional stability.
