Big beautiful belt' of US-aligned states takes form across Eurasia
WASHINGTON -- From Morocco to Kazakhstan, a cluster of U.S.-aligned states is coalescing into an almost continuous arc across Eurasia -- a formation one analyst has dubbed a "big beautiful belt." President Donald Trump will host many of the leaders from this emerging belt in Washington on Thursday for the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace. The gathering will open with discussions on Gaza reconstruction, but diplomats expect the agenda to widen quickly to other geopolitical flashpoints. Analysts say the belt could evolve into a strategic counterweight to Chinese President Xi Jinping's Belt and Road Initiative, setting the stage for new competition across the Eurasian heartland.
