A year into their escalating but contained conflict, Israel and the Lebanese militant group Hizbollah are on the brink of all-out war. Israel has intensified its attacks, killing dozens of Hizbollah operatives, as well as some civilians, by apparently detonating communication devices and striking at the group’s elite forces. Hizbollah has responded with a shower of rockets and drones, underscoring that its capacities remain at least partly intact.
A full-scale conflict looms. The U.S. should do everything in its power to head off disaster. |
