The Association Council between the European Union and Egypt
held its 11th meeting on Monday, 15 June in Luxembourg.
The meeting was co-chaired by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas and the Minister
of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty, who led the Egyptian delegation. Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, also participated on behalf of the European Commission.
Building on the first EU-Egypt summit held in October 2025, the Association Council reviewed the implementation of the EU-
Egypt Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership, launched
in March 2024, and discussed avenues for further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
The parties took stock of progress across the Partnership's six pillars, namely political relations, economic stability, trade and investment, migration and mobility, security, and demography and human capital.
The exchange also provided an opportunity to discuss global
issues of common interest and the regional situation, including developments in the Middle East and North Africa region and their implications for EU-Egypt cooperation.
