Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Yoav Gallant’s dismissal late Tuesday, saying trust between the two men “has eroded” in recent months. Gallant had emerged as one of Netanyahu’s fiercest and most public critics over the war in Gaza and the failure to reach a hostage deal with Hamas.
