Trump brought "detailed set of questions" to Oval Office meeting with Biden, White House says
President-elect Donald Trump brought “a detailed set of questions” to Wednesday’s Oval Office meeting with President Joe Biden, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters.
Jean-Pierre said the meeting was “indeed, very cordial, very gracious, and substantive.”
The press secretary declined to say what questions Trump raised during the nearly two-hour meeting, but told reporters during Wednesday’s White House press briefing that Biden “certainly looked forward to the meeting, appreciated the conversation and answered any questions that the president-elect had, offered up his thoughts.”
Jean-Pierre said she spoke with Biden in the Oval herself before joining today’s briefing, who “wanted you all to know that the president-elect, again, was gracious,” but described the discussion as “a private conversation.”
And, moving forward, Biden “is always going to, obviously, keep that line of communication open to the president-elect,” she added.
In a followup exchange, Jean-Pierre said Vice President Kamala Harris “did not attend the meeting between the two presidents this morning.”
