Islamic Jihad says IDF is lying about its role in Gaza hospital strike

The Palestinian terror group has described the Israeli military's accusation that it was responsible for a strike on a Gaza hospital that left hundreds dead as “lies”. According to the group, the hospital had been ordered to evacuate by Israel under threat of bombardment, and it was a bomb dropped by an Israeli plane that caused the tragedy.

Bodies of civilians pile up outside hospital as blame game threatens stability in the Middle East

The bombing of the Anglican-run Al-Ahli Arab hospital is feared to have killed more than 200 civilians. In shaky video footage filmed from inside, fires can be seen raging amid scenes of hellish devastation. As tensions grow over who was responsible, Joe Biden will arrive in Israel later this morning to meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Fighting on two fronts may be too much for the IDF

Foreign Correspondents James Rothwell and Roland Oliphant report that Israeli military chiefs are concerned about springing a trap in which they commit ground forces to a Gaza invasion but then face an assault from Hezbollah in the north.

On home turf, Allison Pearson writes that the pro-Palestine demonstration at the Cenotaph was an outrage – and a London university has suspended some students following a Gaza solidarity rally.
