Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke via phone today with Holy See Secretary of State Cardinal Parolin.  The Secretary and Cardinal discussed shared concerns over Hamas’ horrific terrorist attacks against Israel and the need to help protect the most vulnerable.  The Secretary thanked Cardinal Parolin for the Pope’s strong statement in support of Israel, affirming Israel’s right to self-defense and calling for the release of hostages.
