Amid the ongoing escalation of violence in Israel and Palestine, the region finds itself mired in crisis, desperately seeking a path toward a sustainable and enduring peace. We invite you to join us at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, for an expert panel discussion on the current situation, the repercussions and response among the international community, the risks of further escalation, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and potential scenarios for resolution.

SPEAKERS

Celine Touboul is the co–executive director of the Economic Cooperation Foundation (ECF), an Israeli policy-planning think-tank. Celine leads ECF’s policy efforts for Gaza stabilization.

Mustafa Barghouti is a Palestinian physician, activist, and politician who serves as general secretary of the Palestinian National Initiative, also known as al-Mubadara. He previously served as Minister of Information of the Palestinian unity government. He has been a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council since 2006 and is also a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization Central Council.

Marwan Muasher is the vice president for studies at Carnegie’s Middle East Program as well as the former foreign minister of Jordan (2002–2004) and former deputy prime minister of Jordan (2004–-2005). He was the first Jordanian ambassador to Israel.

Amr Hamzawy is an Egyptian political scientist and the director of the Carnegie Endowment’s Middle East Program.
