Ukraine: The War That Changed the World, One Year On
February 24 marks the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The war, and its consequences, impact not only the region, but the entire world.

February 24 marks the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a crisis that has more than once challenged experts’ calculations and expectations. Against the initial odds, Ukraine withstands Russian aggression, but so does the Russian economy despite unprecedented Western sanctions. While many aspects of the war remain unknown, the political, economic, and social consequences triggered by it have already started to shape in front of our eyes. These trends impact not only the region, but the entire world. What additional trends should the world expect to occur in the upcoming months? Should we really brace for a protracted conflict or prepare for peace negotiations?
What awaits Ukraine, Russia, international politics and the global economy after the war?
