Vladimir Putin sworn in for a fifth term as president, positioning him as Russia’s leader-for-life
Putin, who has circumvented term limits repeatedly to remain Russia’s supreme political leader for a quarter-century, was inaugurated for a new six-year term that will run through 2030. Putin has vowed to persist with his war in Ukraine and is presiding over a sweeping transformation of Russia into a regressive militarized state in conflict with America and the West.
