To commemorate the thirteenth anniversary of the Syrian uprising, the Atlantic Council’s Syria Project, the Middle East Institute’s Syria Program, and the European Institute of Peace, in partnership with Madaniya Civil Society Network invite you to join the launch of the new transatlantic and multilateral Syria Strategy Project. The event will be in person at our headquarters and virtually on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 1:00 p.m to 5:00 p.m. (ET).

Nearly thirteen years into the war in Syria, the Syrian crisis continues to bleed across borders, the political process is at a stalemate, and international attention and funds are dwindling. This new project hopes to place the Syrian crisis at the center of policy agendas in the US, Europe, and the Middle East and to pave a path toward resolving the Syrian crisis in a representative, implementable, and realistic manner.

For the next year, project partners will initiate an intensive process of engagement with subject matter experts and policymakers in the US, Europe, and the Middle East to develop a holistic strategy to sustainably forge a pathway to resolving the Syrian crisis. This process will include over 80 subject-matter experts, Syrian civil society representatives, and stakeholders and more than 25 Syrian stakeholders and international governments.
