The US Justice Department unit charged with defending against legal challenges to signature Trump administration policies - such as restricting birthright citizenship and slashing funding to Harvard University - has lost nearly two-thirds of its staff, according to a list seen by Reuters. Federal officials defended Trump's escalating campaign to deport immigrants in the US illegally, including a California farm raid that left one worker dead, and said the administration would appeal a ruling to halt some of its more aggressive tactics. The fuel switch locks are the focus of the investigation into last month's Air India crash after a preliminary report found that moments before the plane came down the fuel to both engines was cut off.
