Deputy Secretary Sherman’s Call with French Foreign Ministry Secretary General Descôtes

Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman spoke today with French Foreign Ministry Secretary General Anne-Marie Descôtes.  The Deputy Secretary and the Secretary General discussed outcomes from the NATO Summit in Vilnius and our two countries’ steadfast support for Ukraine in response to Russia’s brutal war.  The Deputy Secretary and the Secretary General also discussed President Macron’s upcoming visit to the Indo-Pacific region, as well as key global issues, including challenges posed by the People’s Republic of China, peace and security in the Western Balkans, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and Haiti.
